The Freeport Pride, Inc. Drug Abuse Treatment Program is an outpatient drug free service,
provided to individuals with a drug problem and their families. Appropriateness for agency services
is determined by an interview with an agency staff member. Treatment services include individual,
family, and group counseling, vocational services and drug education. Most treatment clients participate
in the agency's "phase" program, a structured program composed of four phases of treatment. Client services
are protected by confidentiality as per Federal and State law.
Movement from one phase of the program to the next is based on a number of criteria, most notably abstinence
from drugs and attendance. In the first phase of treatment, clients are generally involved in individual and
group counseling (“introductory group“), our educational series, and 12 step groups. Regular urinalysis is
conducted. In subsequent phases of treatment (phases II and III) a “treatment group” replaces the
“introductory group” and the educational series has been completed. Vocational services are provided to
clients as needed. Aftercare involves an individualized treatment plan. The minimum amount of time in the
phase program is generally eight months. Family member involvement in the treatment process is required.
Our family program provides individual and group counseling.
